Since 2006 Afghanistan’s trade deficit is widening. This is largely a result of a surge in imports (petroleum, machinery and equipment, and food items) for the reconstruction efforts. Afghanistan main trading partners are Pakistan, China, India, Russia and Turkey.
The balance of trade in Afghanistan has averaged 4200.60 million USD from 2003 to 2015.
