The Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) supports organisations and individuals to identify, nurture and share innovative and scalable solutions to the challenges facing effective humanitarian assistance.
The HIF supports organisations working in countries and regions facing humanitarian challenges, through providing funding and resources to develop, test and share new technologies, products and processes that will make humanitarian aid more effective and cost-efficient in the future.
Launched in 2010, the HIF is the product of a partnership between Enhancing Learning and Research for Humanitarian Assistance (ELRHA) and the Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action (ALNAP); and is hosted by Save the Children UK. The HIG is currently supported by contributions from the UK Department of International Development (DFID) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
