However the DRC is also a member of the Governing Board of the Danish Committee for Aid to Afghan Refugees (DACAAR), which was established in Afghanistan in 1984. The DRC focusses upon improved protection and livelihoods as well as establishing contingency capacities along the entire displacement axis. DRC’s key area of expertise encompass livelihood, vocational training, community mobilization, community infrastructure, self-reliance grants, protection monitoring, emergency support, winterization, non-food items distribution, food distribution, emergency logistics as well as transport and distributions. In addition, the DRC helps to organise the Afghan Diaspora in Denmark via a grants facility to support sustainable livelihoods interventions in Afghanistan.
